Why do we have daylight saving? Who needs that? Why is it good?
Here in Australia we switched to “summer time” recently (in some states) and I was just wondering why? People came to work looking like they haven’t slept for years and it will take a few days for our bodies to get used to the new time. It will most probably cause a lot of confusion with meetings times also.
And please, don’t tell me about electricity saving – total crap. DST was introduced almost 100 years ago and the main purpose was to save electricity. Studies at that time showed little to no effect. Now days, in most of the office building lights are on regardless of whether its dark or not outside and residential electricity usage is somewhere around 3%. Although, some install motion detectors – this is much more saving. The question stands, why punishing people with DST?
