Linux vs. Windows

Recently, I was reading an article about how to “Make Linux faster and lighter” (http://www.tuxradar.com/content/make-linux-faster-and-lighter) on TuxRadar. The article was not very good (IMHO) and I switched to users comments. A few paragraphs later I noticed very familiar trend.

It is funny how any Linux related discussion sooner or later becomes an endless flood of comments about why Linux is better than Windows and vice versa. What is the point? A few months ago I switched from WinXP to Ubuntu and I’m happy now. I hate Microsoft, you say? No, I don’t care about Microsoft. I was happy before that with XP as well. I had my reasons for the move – Linux runs better on my old laptop, much cheaper to maintain, etc. Some one else will have his own reasons. Why is it so important which one is better? Which one is better for you and your tasks is the right question to ask.
